TG Group Bids Farewell to Long-Serving Team Member

TG Builders Merchants, part of the TG Group, is proud to celebrate and honour the outstanding 40-year career of Adele, who retired this week following a remarkable journey within the company.

Adele first joined TG Builders Merchants in 1985 as an Admin Assistant. Over the decades, she rose through the ranks to become Assistant Manager and later made company history as the first female Branch Manager at the Tattenhall, Chester, branch — a significant milestone in what was, at the time, a male-dominated industry.

In 2021, Adele stepped down from her management responsibilities but continued to support the branch on a part-time basis, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to both the team and the business. Throughout her career, she played a key role in supporting the growth and evolution of the Tattenhall site, including overseeing major system changes and witnessing the branch’s complete redevelopment.

“Adele’s work ethic, leadership and resilience have left a lasting legacy,” said Kate Davies, Ops Manager TG Builders Merchants. “She’s been an inspiration to colleagues across the company, and we are truly grateful for her decades of service.”

Now enjoying a well-earned retirement, Adele plans to spend more time volunteering in her local community, travelling, and enjoying life with her beloved dog, Rosie.
