Sixth Generation Embarks on a New Chapter: Harry and Oliver Griffiths Join the Tudor Griffiths Group Family Business

The legacy of the Tudor Griffiths Group, a name synonymous with the construction industry, continues to thrive with the entrance of Harry and Oliver Griffiths, the sixth generation of the Griffiths family into the business.

Since its inception in the late 19th century, the Tudor Griffiths Group has been a cornerstone of the local economy. The story of the company began in 1874, when William Griffiths, at the age of 25, transformed his vision into reality by establishing himself as a builder in Kinnerley, near Oswestry. From humble beginnings, the company rapidly expanded, taking on initial building projects like the United Reform Chapel at Dovaston and the Baptist Chapel in Newtown.

Today, the Tudor Griffiths Group, still under family ownership and management after an impressive 150 years, boasts an extensive portfolio including 8 Builders’ Merchants, 14 ready-mixed concrete plants, three sand and gravel quarries, a sea-dredged sand operation, as well as renewable energy initiatives, recycling services, and skip hire. Employing over 300 people and operating across Shropshire, Cheshire, Worcestershire, and Mid and North Wales, the company’s influence reaches far beyond its roots in Oswestry.

Tudor Griffiths, Managing Director of the Tudor Griffiths Group, expressed his excitement about Harry and Oliver Griffiths involvement, stating, “Welcoming Harry and Oliver into the business marks an important milestone. Their fresh ideas are essential as we stride forward, and their involvement ensures a seamless transition from one generation to the next.”
